I have been volunteering for a few months – about two days a week. I go out gardening – hedge cutting, grass cutting, weeding, hoeing etc.
When I came to The Green Team I was struggling with anxiety and depression, a problem I’ve had for a few years now. I was struggling to get up in the morning and motivate myself and finding it hard to be bothered to socialise.
The Green Team has made a huge difference to my life – I have made so many friends and I’m a lot happier. Going out with the team has helped with my anxiety more than anything else I’ve tried – and it’s given me confidence to be able to do other things.
I’ve also started doing gardening both at home and at my other volunteering job. I’ve become a lot more outgoing and I’m really grateful that I’ve had the opportunity to be part of The Green Team.
